Main Functions carried out with jLogBook

Viewing the Logs

You can use the cursor keys or the scroll bars to move the information in the logbook grid. There is additional information off the screen on the right, which can be viewed using the horizontal scroll bar. When you click on a log, further information is shown in the form at the top of the screen.

Filtering the logs

The system will only show information that you have been authorized to see. You can further filter information by using the Filter button and selecting the criteria for the information you want to see. The filter that has been applied will be described in the logbook grid window banner.

You can also select a different time window. This is the number of days of logs that are shown to you.

Adding New Logs

If you are authorized, you can add new logs to the system. You will only be able to add logs in the areas in which you are authorized.

Modifying and Deleting existing logs

If you are authorized, you may modify logs according to strict criteria that are unique for your user name. E.g. you may not be able to modify other people's logs or logs that are older than a certain time.

Configuring the System

If you have the correct authority, you may configure the system. This function is carried out through various configuration screens.

Printing the logs

Once you have found the logs of interest using the filter function, you may print these out to any printer on your network.

Logging In or Out

You may log in or out at any time. There are facilities to automatically log you out at certain times such as the shift end
