This section describes how you would configure the categories or fields of information that will appear in the jLogBook system.
The Initial Version 4 configuration screen is shown below.

To get to the Category Configuration Screen, just click on the Categories link.
The categories configuration will appear. (See below).

To modify a category:
Click on the Category link from the main configuration screen,
Click on the category you want to modify in the grid in the lower half of the screen
Make any modifications and then click on the Modify Category button.
When you add a category using the configuration screen (When you click on the "Add a Category" button);
The system will add a column to the "logtable" table in the database.
You will be able to configure this category to be displayed in the main Log grid. (if you specify the "Display in Grid?" field as True.)
You will be able to configure this category to be displayed in the Form. (if you specify the "Display in Form?" field as True.)
Once you have added a new category, you need to carefully check the fields since the default values for the fields are not necessarily what you want.
Since this is a major structural change to the system, we suggest you put sufficient thought into what categories you need before actually carrying out this phase.
Note that you cannot change a category name by simply overtyping it in the grid. This is because a structural change to the underlying tables is required via the Create Log Table button.
